Becoming a Tutor

Our students often struggle in school and our tutoring and support can not only help them improve their subject understanding, but their confidence and self-esteem, having additional positive impact in their school and social lives.

When you apply we ask you what days and hours you are available and match you to a tutee who can make those times, so you choose.  Of course being flexible is great, but we understand that other commitments may dictate when you are available.

Tutoring usually happens in the tutees home, but it is possible to tutor at your house, or in a library or other public space.  Again, this will be organised when we set-up the tutoring arrangement and plan it with you.

Obviously it will be the subjects you said you can tutor in on your application, but we also want it to be very clear how what you are doing with the tutee addresses their needs which have been identified.  Part of the matching process between tutors and tutees will take this into account and will be discussed before a placement is made.

We are committed to providing the best service for these children and over time our positive reputation will precede us.  We ensure all of our staff are experienced and qualified and ask that all of our tutors share their knowledge and experience with each other, creating a supportive community.  We provide training for staff, discounts on our resources as well as our training events.
